Hidden Strike: American Revolution

I'm interested to hear thoughts about others' experiences with the multi-player options this game offers.  I have played the game solitaire about a half-dozen times, and while I enjoyed the experience, it has been a real bear to beat.  The best I have managed in multiple tries is a loss on the tie-breaker.  Nevertheless, reading some of the other play options, like the Traitor multi-player option, I am intrigued, but I just haven't been able to get a group together to give it a spin.  My hunch is that there is a fun variant of this game hiding somewhere.  I feel if I keep playing only solitaire, I will eventually lose interest with its tough-as-nails solitaire version.
  

I am wary by games that offer multiple modes and player counts after being burned by one that promised 2 player, but it turned out it was a solo game where you could play co-op. Not my thing.

Having a look at the promo for this, it says it has five modes, including head to head two player. Have you tried that at all yet, or just the colo stuff?

I've only tried the solo mode to this point; hoping to hear from others who may have played the other modes, and how they found the experience to be.
