Hoi y`all as yes, the 'thunk-bunk'-folks produced their 'Line' of these-! They even had a 'subscription' version, in which you got a SET of '4' of their 'Games'-! They had 'Bookshelf' appeal, while these had '5/8ths'-inch counters, rounded-off corners, storage compartment within, I didn't recall any 'die', but they did supply 'drawn-numbers' as counters. Subsequent editions for theirs had big, long boxes, 'Jelly-Tray' counters/etc. storage, or whatever-? Oh, they were the 1st with the 'W.W.2'-German Unit Symbols being seen/used for theirs, respectively. The ONLY other 'place' these are being seen, is as 'Model Decals' while 'Planes'/'Ships' had their own.

I have never set my eyes on an actual RAND game. Very cool. Is it yours, or just an image?

It (above) also holds the distinction for having 'Round' counters, being unique with off-set 'Squares' to enable '6' adjacent ones then, with 'Personnel' rosters you kept 'track' upon, using a Yellow Pencil for day-to-day 'OPS'-! I seriously considered using '1:700th'-scale Planes, mounted on a 'Pin' stuck-through each counter, but, not every 'Plane' was available for that.
Hoi "Grant" and yes, I did own this 'Game' as there also was 'S.D.C.' with theirs & they 'advertised' in 'Hobby' (Modeler's) magazines of where I first read about theirs-! ('NORAD') That wasn't the usual ('Hexmap') kind either, and back in 1968 we had 'Renwal's: "The Battle of Britain"-by "Lou Zocchi"-for whom also designed "Flying Tigers", & "Luftwaffe"-for 'Avalon Hill'-! In 1969 we got to watch "The Battle of Britain" movie on the 'Silver Screen' in our local theater 'locale'-!
