Basic 'A.&A.' was created by GROGnads

Only 'M.t.G.' had perpetrated their 'wallet-rapine' so viciously although, 'A&A' might have to be in for 'contention', lately-?

Hoi y`all as 'moi' was considering, since many have already gotten familiar about these, now what else could 'moi' espouse about/upon-? Well, not since "RISK" had there been a 'global conflict game' as popular & expanded the 'scope' for these-! It introduced the aspects of 'Technical Charts', in which to enable superior 'constructs' for greatly improved forces, or 'concepts' from which provided additional 'reactions'-! Much with this 'evolved' unto more 'complexity' as later versions will attest, since allotting increased options allowed 'REPO-mon intensive' scrutiny into plays. It was in 1987 that I found myself delving further about that, while initially it had begun in 1985, at the M.S.U. 'Games Club' of theirs. Then, circa 1990, I attended 'PacifiCON' & met a local there, for whom has plenty of experiences as he introduced many 'notions' for playings-! We had already 'experimented' plentifulfilled because one or another of us, would introduce/incorporate thusly with them. With the likes from 'Pewtercraft'-(minis), 'XENO'-(entire 'Games'), 'Max's A&A Rules, etc. while today, there is: the HBG site , of which contains mass myriad of 'minis' for just about whatever you desired-!

The pieces shown above were those made by 'Table Tactics' as they also provided a 'RISK 2042' variant-!

Once they published their 'Rules Update' for this, it assisted in clarifying plenty that the prior-sort had not explained fully. One example was regarding 'Transports', in that those could ONLY 'unload' & ended their 'moves' while/once began conducting an 'Invasion' with any. They could embark 'Troops' from several locations, or even within the same 'Sea Zone' as the 'Invasion' space. I believe that 'XENO' was the biggest provider of full-on 'A&A Games' over the decades, including 'advanced' notions for: '2nd Level Improved Pieces'; 'Sub-Pens'; etc. They also made it an *Option* about using 'The C-in-C' concept, as plenty considered that too powerful: "as is". I'll delve further into some a little later, of which many of Y-O-U might not have had-? I have 't`asked' some makers for this upon a few that 'Pewtercraft' made, especially the 'P.T.Boats' as we enjoyed them immensely-!

Hoi y`all as I did have an incomplete 'Nova'-(Missing enough 'counters') edition, several 'XENO' games-(to include BIG map) & original 'Rules & Charts' by themselves, 'Max's A&A Booklet, 'Pewtercraft Pieces & 'Rules', 1-Original '1985', 1-'Pacific', 2-'Europe'-(2nd copy had twice the amount for pieces-!), 'Anniversary', 'Europe 1940', 'Conquest of the Pacific'-(counters for that shown below), 'W.W.I 1914', along with 100s-'minis' from 'H.B.G.' of advanced/improved assortment in 'W.W.I' & regular 'A&A' pieces-! The 'P'='Pillbox' levels, in that they could accrue into bigger-size of which they required 'knocking down & out' by absorbing 'HITS' before anything else could become such.

If we count all the versions as one, would it be your most played game?

Hoi as we should include the P.C. iteration too, yet, not-so-much of the expansion for this. I played as A-L-L players because their 'A.I.' is so timid, as far that I'm concerned, with bettered ones in 'S.M.A.C.' or 'EuroRails'-! It is when I constantly played on the P.C. that I'd get the 'notions' for them 'Bases', 'Facilities', 'Roadways', 'Moves Remaining', etc. The various places could even 'bump-up' the value of theirs with every 'sort'  to allow those, as well to provide '0'-kinds in obtaining some numeric, now-! That would then increase the amount(s) produced in being permitted as placement into there & it seems for certain 'Bases', then 'Recruits' will accrue in greater amounts as a further incentive. I've asked/tasked the 'H,B,G.'-folks upon making several era-apropos 'Bases' as their current kind are too 'Modern' types of vehicles and 'W.W.I' should contain 'Horses & Wagons' as 'W.W.2' will have era-specific 'Trucks', 'Halftracks', etc. I would also prefer that they produce specific 'Locale' assortment such as 'Gibralter', 'Singapore', 'Liege', 'Namur', 'Verdun', etc.  The 'minis' seen/shown below were some of their 'Ally' assortment & greatly discounted for the 'time being'-! Their other 'colour' is 'Tan' & has a slightly better selection for those.

I do remember playing Basic A+A on computer years ago, and that it was not much of a challenge vs the AI.
