Hoi y`all as I wrote for a H.S. Sophomore 'Lit. Class' about a 'Game' of this being played, including small 'index card' drawings/maps for every 'Battle'-! It 'got' an 'A-' due to some misspelled words-ALL from proper 'English'-! Of course, today, then any should have included concocted conversations for the participants, to wit: "Col. Sharpe, can you 'outwit' some d`ranged l`orange loathesome 'Oaf' through your 'Dazzleing' rizz, or 'Buffoonesque Baffle' the kerfuffle-Kaiser'-?-"

I have never played this. I've gone back and played a few of the 1960s AH games, but this one never grabbed me. Maybe because it wasn't until much later that I got more interested in Napoleonics.

Hoi "Grant" as we played as many 'Nappy'-based 'Games' of the easier/less-complicated ones, so, NONE of them 'La Battelle' kinds-! They did include the 4-maps cobbled together 'Waterloo' SPI version, and the entirety from the 'Napoleon at War' selections, or my 'fav' "Thunder at Leutzen"-(S&T-99)-! It allowed participants to diverge from the actual, historical event, so that a wider range of 'Battles' might become enacted over the scope of their 'environs'-!

I have since started to play plenty of Nappy games, but like you, I draw the line at La Bataille. I hope to play my first game from the Library of Nap Battles series by Kevin Zucker this year. That looks like enough complexity for me.
