Hollandspiele announces Hex No. 87, Prelude to Leipzig
John Theissen’s previous operational Napoleonics game, Campaign of Nations, covered the autumn 1813 campaign that culminated in the climactic battle at Leipzig. It has proven to be one of his most popular games, and has had a resurgence in the last couple of years. So we were pleased as punch when Mr. Theissen approached us with the idea of a game on the Spring 1813 Campaign.
Prelude to Leipzig(MSRP $60), like all Mr. Theissen’s games, takes a clean, streamlined approach to operational wargaming, giving players historical tools to solve historical problems. What happens is up to you: pursue your objectives aggressively for an exciting clash, or dilly-dally for an indecisive campaign. It is this trust in player agency that have won his games their ardent fans.
This game is played on spacious extra-large hexes, using a 32” x 32” map – our largest ever!

An appreciation of John Theissen's games
For the last year or so, whenever we release a new game with a map, we’ve been offering a canvas map upgrade during the first week. Unfortunately, due to rising material costs and scarcity, we’re not going to be able to do that for the foreseeable future.
But we wanted to do something special to mark this new release, so we’re offering the other eight John Theissen boxed games at $5 off MSRP.
