Update features a pile of new P500 games
I'll include the full newsletter below, but just a few highlights first.
It's interesting to see GMT is making a Designer Edition of Frank Chadwick's A House Divided. There have been several publishers of this title over the years: GDW, Phalanx, and Mayfair. Given both the latter let go of the rights, GMT must think the venerable title still has legs if promoted and produced their way. I have the Phalanx version as I'd heard many folks preferred it to the newer Mayfair version. Time will tell if I feel the urge to get the new one as well. It does sound tempting.
GMT is now distributing Shakos games. Great news. I'm a big fan of their Napoleon series; hopefully this brings in more players.
Also on the new P500 list is the next Mark Simonitch 19xx game, Italy 1943. I'm a bit obsessed with the Italian Campaign at the moment, and this is a huge disappointment. I'm sure the game will be terrific, but it only covers the west side of the march featuring the US 5th Army. When I heard he was doing the next game on Italy, I was hoping I'd be attacking the Liri Valley with Commonwealth forces. Perhaps a later volume.
The 2024 replacement countersheet is up for preorder. Get it and don't grumble.
